Re: EM6910 switching pour spout issues
Same here. I broke my GH trying to remove the spout back when i had the 6910.
Lucky for me, the machine broke down as well and I returned it for a refund :P

Re: EM6910 switching pour spout issues
Thanks for the replies.
It was quite an effort to remove the dual spout so I can imagine the handle breaking.
I have searched this site for keywords and did not find anything on the spout issue I am having. This must be that 1%.
Im using Campos superior blend? beans. Im using the Sunbeam em0480 grinder on setting 15. While extracting the pressure needle is around 1 o clock. I thought it was a dirty group head that was causing the coffee to come out of the sides. Ill try locking it in tighter.
The Sunbeam call operator said they didnt have any of those parts in stock, but they are sending me their sample grounded beans for reference purposes. Despite the leaking extraction it still comes out with a respectable amount of crema. My extraction is approx 30ml in the 25-30 sec time frame.
Thanks.

Re: EM6910 switching pour spout issues
I did a neat trick re the changing of spouts -
I rang SB to ask how much for a group handle. The lady said they didnt have any, nor did they have any eta...
She then asked if I would be okay with one from a returned (assume warrantied) machine. Of course I would...
Next day in the post, a new (well, second hand) group handle for free - the scratch on it was free too ;D
So now I have one handle with the single and one with the double
Be nice on the phone, you never know what may happen.

I’ve just bought an em6910 several weeks ago. I think it makes pretty good espresso as confirmed by my mate who
owns a sandwich shop with a commercial coffee machine. Thick and rich shots and good enough steam for him to
pour latte art. I’m still working on the rosetta haha.
I recently removed the dual pour spout and screwed in the single pour. But when I went back to the dual pour spout
the spouts now lines up so that they are aligned perpendicular to the front of the machine. Ie Instead of two glasses being placed side by side they are one now infront of each other to collect the espresso. It doesn’t affect the extraction, it’s just annoying to look at.
I ran Sunbeam and they said I crossed the thread and I needed a new dual pour spout but they asked me to call one of their agents for parts. I did and that chap said he’s never been able to realign the spouts easily and that you have to trial and error screwing it back in at different thread spots.
Anyone else had this issue?
Also just recently the coffee is coming out of the sides of the grouphead instead of the spout at the group handle. My tamping and dosing style has stayed the same as before. I’ve cleaned the machine but that hasn’t stopped the leaking..... Any ideas?
Thanks.
As to ya leak... As per Acog or you have been OVER dosing and split the seal ???
You using the dual floor PF or the non pressurised?
1: What Beans
2: What grind
Your first post... SO I would suggest you do some reading here on teh EM6910 as 99% of all your questions that you have / might ask - have been asked previously and all answered..

Re: EM6910 switching pour spout issues
I made the same mistake when I first got my machine and ended up breaking the portafilter when trying to remove the single pour spout. It was locked in *THAT* tight.
Back then (all of 12 months ago) Sunbeam were much more forgiving and just sent out the needed part. Unfortunately for you, theyre a little bit more tight fisted these days.
My recommendation would be to anyone considering swapping the double for the single pour spout, to never ever do it unless you have no intentions of going back.
regarding the leak, try coarsening your grind a touch, dosing down slightly or locking the portafilter in slightly tighter. change one thing at a time.
