Re: 6910 handle stuck
when I tried to backflush/clean mine when the pressure gauge wasnt working (and the one-way valve) my handle also got insanely locked on with the pressure. Sounds like your pressure relief valve might be gooped up! Thats all that was wrong with mine.

Re: 6910 handle stuck
Crap up in that valve and line... I guess they have been treating it well and cleaning and back flushes etc ;DOriginally posted by 7D415C474D4C5B4E464D290 link=1259322252/2#2 date=1259324241The gauge wasnt working when I got back 5 months ago.
The last time I saw it working was 11 months ago.
Somewhere in that time it stopped working.
Ya know what ya got to do..... Call Ghost Busters
Now... If ya were a little closer

Re: 6910 handle stuck
TG... I would try a full de scale and then a back flush - againOriginally posted by 5965786369687F6A62690D0 link=1259322252/0#0 date=1259322252Today I went to clean the 6910 at work.
Got out the instruction book and along with some Cafetto, set the cleaning cycle in motion.
The book says it takes about 10 minutes so I set to reading the paper for a while.
I know Im deaf in one ear but it didnt seem to be making the usual racket so I went over to check it out and heard it pump occasionally but strangely also, there was little water in the bowl Id set to catch it.
About then the lights all came back on indicating it was done.
Then the problem; the handle wouldnt move.
It was obviously being held on by the water pressure within.
I let it cool down but could only budge it a few degrees.
Eventually I decided to stick a spoon up to try and jiggle the basket.
A little success at first with a small hiss.
Second success gave a big splash of mucky, soapy water.
After cleaning this up a third go released the remainder of the pressure.
Running water now through the dual walled double basket works as normal but during the cleaning cycle, with the rubber inset, there was obviously an obstruction and then no release of pressure.
Is the only solution likely to be pulling it apart to clean now?
Im thinking another attempt at running the cleaning cycle will only do the same again.
In hope that some of the crap my get loosened / dissolved...
However at per Matrix and others... Sounds like some crap in the valve... Did you notice how the gauge is responding ??? As that could also indicate how bad or where about sit stuck.
There is a clear pic in one of Matrixs posts and with a little TLC and attention can be cleaned with some ease.... The problem, as always, is getting it all apart and not causing more problems... Be careful of the gauge line...
The one at work was starting to play up and ... Man the coffee was in every where... They must have had a fine grind and overdosed etc and had a blow back... Yep... Cleaned the outside but teh inside was a mess.
Let us know how ya go..
AM with TLC
