$180 BUCKS!!!! I am hoping it is covered under warranty

    Nick
Pump would be covered... Thermoblock... Not...

However I have not seen a thermoblock fail as to a blockage... Only lack of heat and or the thermal fuse has failed for a reason..

    Coil and or pump...

    Hi Espressolover.
I had the exact same prob with my 6910. Sent it into the repairer, who found that the steam thermoblock was cactus. Sunbeam were out of stock, so I had to wait 6 weeks for new stock to arrive. works like a charm now. Back to basic latte art
    Cost was $180.00.
    Hang in there.
    Jez

Maybe there is a leak and it is sucking air into the steam arm. Is that possible?
Call SB.. Sorry... Ya can spend some hrs... But that item is covered under their warranty agreement... If ya go any further you could well end up compromising any SB responsibilities...

Sounds like the Steam pump and or a leak in one of the fittings.. These are not easy to get at and one wrong move.... Full of 240V.. Return to SB for a repair...

Sorry... Best I can offer... Unless ya next door.

OK....Descaled, restored factory settings and have taken steam to dryest setting. Attempted milk thismorning. BUBBLES. I plunged the wand and It seemed like the steam was actually putting air bubbles into my milk. I am soo over it. I am borrowing my mates 6910 and will compare.

I have a 6910 and the steam pump began to fade after just one month (2-3 cups a day). Sunbeam were good and replaced the pump but the hassle of having to cart my machine to the repairers and pick it up again two weeks later I could have lived without. Im still enjoying the machine and the coffee it is capable of producing but if I get more reliability issues I will go the whole hog and replace it with an Isomac La Mondiale / Mazzer Mini combo..... If nothing else the Sunbeam has re-ignited my coffee passion and is saving me from having to duck into my local cafe quite so often now that my lattes are better (and more consistent) than theirs! (IMHO)

Well I just spent an hour on the old Sunbeam giving it some extreme tlc. Full descale and the works.
Have run out of milk, so i will try texturing later.
How does descaling effect the steam arm? Just wondering.
Does not, so long as you have followed teh instructions and done an extra flush... Wettest settings and lowest temp possible..

Then when all back to normal.. Set to the default..

If there was any scale or build up, this should remove it... If it still happens and or the pump appears to cut in and out... Etc then SB as the pump is covered by a 5 year warranty..

If your warrantee is out, then there may be still what is called "Implied Warrantee"
    Its call "Statutory Warranty".
    In NSW its the law.
Everything else you said is correct.

I think the 12 mnth warranty just ran out as I git the machine last christmas.
The steam seems to be ok, but the steam isnt constant?
    I am getting really ticked!!
Did you descal teh steam as per my instructions... Use teh search feature...

Secondly... The pumps are under 5 years warranty... Not 12 months... If it is failing... Take it back / call SB.

Is it ok to descale the steam arm?
I heard that it wasnt necessary.
