  • Gaggia Classic Steamer not working

    Hi there,
We bought a second hand Gaggia classic at Christmas and now the steamer isnt working. Ive detached and cleaned the wand but no difference.

Were new to owning a coffee machine so not familiar with maintenance as yet (and we dont have a manual for the machine).

Is this likely to help and if so, can anyone let us know what the process is for descaling?

    Thanks so much in advance.

Assuming that your boiler and thermostat work, there is a blockage in the steam pipe, very common all what you need is a paper clip and clean the hole.

If you need diagrams happy to email to you.

Re: Gaggia Classic Steamer not working

I have a Gaggia Coffee that Ive owned for 6 years.  I have de-scaled it regularly and I use it almost every day and havent had any problems, until this week.  I was de-scaling it and I ran water through the steam wand as part of de-scaling.  When I went to run regular water through to clean out the de-scaling agent, the steam knob would turn but nothing happens.  It is not clogged, I had just run water through it.  I can still brew espresso but the steam part doesnt work.  Any ideas what is wrong?

        Thanks

Looks to me that the blockage is on the pipe, undo the frothing aid, and with a paper clip insert it on the hole and see if this unblock.

Keep us post, or give a call if you need more advice
