And that is why mine stays in 8-)
I guess you clean under it then ;D, do you keep it in for the "not properly warmed up" reason? or because it just came that way?
either way, as long as its clean......all good [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
Yep...I figure its there, it doesnt cause a problem if you clean it (pops out easily)...so leave it in during use.

Re: 6910 Group handle Plastic Insert
Well I unscrewed the spout, and unclipped the Graeme (funny name).
But unfortunatley the thread on the spout was cracked, and it fell apart. It must have been cracked for a while, as the exposed metal wasnt shiny, but brown and coffee stained.
I will contact Sunbeam and see if they will replace it.
@theredcapsicum, yes I went to the school in Melbourne. It was good, reinforced a lot of the info available here. The best bit was all the practicing, and the feedback on using the machine.

Re: 6910 Group handle Plastic Insert
I used a flat blade screw driver to push it back through once I removed the spout. Piece of cake. Even if you do break it trying to get it out it wont matter cause youll never want to use it again anyway

Re: 6910 Group handle Plastic Insert
try taking of the spout and pushing it out backwards
also try putting in hot water to expand the Ghandle a bit (might work?)
beaten like a lessor god........

Re: 6910 Group handle Plastic Insert
Firstly, around here its called a graeme.
Removal is easy.
First remove the spout.
Then squeeze the end of the graeme together with a pair of tweezers or something similar.
As you squeeze, push and it will pop out.

6910 Group handle Plastic Insert
At the sunbeam coffee school, the instructor recommended removing the plastic insert from the group handle.
Easier said than done. Does anyone know how to remove it without smashing it?Tags: None
