As you know, the fittings have a tappered thread, so they are extremely tight and i was very careful, taking it off and putting it back on. It snapped where it was no where near the end. Its just my bad luck.....and the only reason i did take it off is because i didnt want to bend the crap out of the pipes incase i stuffed them up.
I wanted more room cause i had to clean where the collar was cause coffee had gotten on there.

Never mind, ill get it sorted next week
As to yellow. Compressor. If you dont... Then you go for a drive to teh local Service station... Buy a Dare iced coffee and then go and use the compressed air... Need to get the old style servos.. Those new one are a pain for cleaning....

Interesting.. Al the ones I have done have a parallel thread and thus are very tight from the start...

As I said in the steps.

Loosen / Crack and that allows you to get some movement.

However it is not needed and you can do without touching any of the fittings.

Check out my other post today as to Gas fittings that I needed for my rebuild..  Bloody scale and a pin hole had rotted two fitting right out.....

The fun will be trying to get the broken one out with out stuffing the flare / olive; so that your new one can be fitted.  If ya stuff it... Then the pipe will have to be cut and extra bits needed, let alone a cm or two shorter pipe work.  Or ya go and make a whole new one up..

I just broke my mates fingers  ;D  And then beat him around the head while he used a flame and some special tools etc to get the broken one out..

Last time I ever let him in my shed.

how funny. Of all the iced coffee drinks you can get in a servo those Dare Espresso taste the most like real coffee, everything else is garbage. In Melbourne, 7 Eleven stores seem to be the only place that sells them. I have one almost every day.

Thats fine, coz they can make a decent coffee, so not a bad idea having a spare. But do you see how flawed it is... youre already up to $1200 minimum - you could have bought one decent machine for that price. Thats why I jumped ship when I did...

Arr... But the main reason for the failure/s was user induced.. Thus you cant point all the fingers at the machine..

I am rebuilding a KLuB commercial T2  and it is only a couple of years old and in effect stuffed..

Does that mean that KLuBs are crappy - NO... Actually not a bad machine.. Poor maintenance!

The high end Procom pump blown out and stuffed... Bad part - NO...  Poor maintenance / slack user..

                  Re: Sunbeam 6910 Collar Replacement

I get your point, just cant afford $2000++ for a machine at the moment, I dont like lever machines and only like the volumetric machines.
Also, now that i have a spare one for parts, this will last me a long time before i buy a new one.
I enjoy the coffee that comes out of this machine and the milk texturing is as good as i can do at work and personally, i like the coffee better at my place than at work.

When i win tattslotto, then i will invest $3000 on a HX machine with volumetric buttons.

Some of the terms / intent here is confusing.. Very few true levers around...

                      Re: Sunbeam 6910 Collar Replacement

Youve got a point. I used to love the coffee that came out of my 6910. I just upgraded and still havent got the best out of my machine yet. So far I was making better coffee on my Sunbeam than my new Hx - however that should change once I improve.

You have to have a threshold though, how many more 6910s can you buy until you say enough is enough?

Yeah, Im not sure, i always said i was not going to buy another SB but when i looked for something else, nothing apealed to me, not even the Rancilio Silvia......

So i just made up my mind and that was it......I couldnt even afford $600 but I cant be without my coffee....I need to buy a new saddle for my bike and ive been putting it off for months now cause i didnt want to spend $200 for a new saddle.....but when it comes to coffee, nothing else matters......

ah well, just had a coffee, gee it was sooo nice and full of body.....luv my SB6910

Posted previously... Gas supplier.. Over near Gilkatho Online

They do commercial and domestic gas appliances...  Many of the fittings used in coffee machines are of a gas type.  Others suppliers often do not carry gas fittings as many are special and thus can not assist.

That why some of the fittings are not tapered but parallel.... Now Watson... I think its time for my nanna nap...
