  • Steam on 6910 stopped working

The steam arm on my 6910 suddenly stopped working yesterday. It eventually started working again until this morning when it was again dead before i got working around 10 mins later. Id describe it as intermittent.

I assume it will need to services (still under wtee) but is there anything I can do or check that might fix this? I assume like most problems with this machine, its quite common.

Depends on what ya mean - stopped working..

1: No steam but pump working OR

    2: No steam pump working

1: Implies crap in the system - may or may not be a simple fix

2: Could be a faulty pump or switch - Time consuming and machine needs to be pulled down.

Dead pump is covered under warranty... Other causes MAY NOT be...

TAT will depend on the service agent...

Have a look through the EM69XX posts / topics... Many talk about steam and possiable fixed... But it all depends on what the REAL cause is.

No pump noise, no steam....it might as well be off.

It did get started again, but Id say there is a problem.

Could be the Pump or the Switch...

Be genital and when you softly and slowly open the steam knob... You should hear a very soft click...

There is a small micro switch with a SS lever that is activated by the internal knob.

On 3 recent EM units I have see it where teh SS lever part has come away from the switch... But if flexed / wiggled the system would work.

A: See if ya can hear the click

B: Give it a firm but soft wiggle etc and see what happens.

If nothing - First guess is teh Steam pump = Warranty OR a broken switch..
