Hi, Ive been reading this forum for a while, but this is my first post. Im thinking of upgrading my worn out Cafe Roma (which has served me just fine for many years but now the plastic bits are starting to crumble after 6 years or so). Ive seen a few good used Gaggia Classics around but I was wondering if anybody can tell me how much room under the group handle there is for the coffee cups. With my Roma I can just fit some of those nice Bodum double walled glasses (the Pavona, which are 9cm high). I dont want to make the mistake of buying a machine that forces me to change my cups for smaller ones. I have a Sunbeam EM0480 grinder, I assume that will be sufficient for the Gaggias needs?

Re: Gaggia Classic max cup size
Thanks for the information. Its good to know I can continue to use my favourite cups if I go down the Gaggia Classic path. I havent come across any stores in Hobart that carry anything but the usual Brevilles, Sunbeam etc coffee machines so I cant check out options such as the Silvia and Gaggia Classic in the flesh.
