Re: PIDd Silvia with Synesso basket
Can you tell me what is the actual difference between the Synesso basket and the Silvias (ie: volume, shape, finish?) I have the latest Silvia and am told they have improved the basket; are you comparing the current Silvia basket to the Syness? Also where can one be picked up in the northern parts of Sydney?

Re: PIDd Silvia with Synesso basket
Im using a single origin Costa Rican coffee from a large roaster in Manly Vale in Sydney. Ive got the PID set to 105 - its giving great results at that temperature, so Im not going to fiddle.

Yes i have the same setup, pid and synesso basket and makes beautiful coffees with di-belle ali reserve beans.Originally posted by 28383A29343732355B0 link=1295516559/3#3 date=1295667736Just a further update - 8 shots in and each has been brilliant! All I can say is that Rancillio should ditch their own filter baskets because they make the machine overly difficult to use.
Just having one now,yum yum.
I have my pid set for 103deg whats your setting at the moment.

PIDd Silvia with Synesso basket
Hey guys,
I received my new Synesso basket and spring from Pullman today. Ive just pulled my first shot and to be completely unoriginal, WOW! What a huge difference! Whether I can maintain consistency better with this basket is something altogether different, but heres hoping.
One thing I did notice was that its very difficult to get the basket out again. Also, my blind filter is virtually impossible to get out once inserted. I had to use a screwdriver to wedge it out. Ideas?
Cheers
