Re: EM6910 humming. Faulty Pump?
I just had exactly same issue - just ordered a new PCB for $70 - I had to as the machine was otherwise 100% perfect

Replaced the PCBs and wiring (EM6910114). Works fine now.

Re: EM6910 humming. Faulty Pump?
I suspect I need a PCB. Anyone with some old EM6910 parts, like a PCB?

Re: EM6910 humming. Faulty Pump?
I found three contacts shorting/glowing on the PCB under the connector marked "Valve" which connect to the Solenoid Valve by a brown wire. When I disconnect the brown wire to the Solenoid, all is quiet.

Re: EM6910 humming. Faulty Pump?
Its not under warranty, otherwise theyd be the first to know, believe me.
Its 2-3 years old, that Ive just bought cheap second-hand as a project.
The guy who sold it said he changed the group seal, turned it back on and all it did was hum.
Im after technical advice from someone that would know how to fix it or have had a similar problem.
Thanks anyway.

EM6910 humming. Faulty Pump?
My EM6910 begins humming whenever the power at the wall is switch on, and even before the Power button on the machine is pressed.
The humming gets louder the longer the power at the wall is left on.
It begins heating up ok when the machines Power button is switched on, but the pump doesnt pump any water out of the group head or steam and hot water pipes. Not wanting to damage the element, I switch it all off after a couple of minutes.
If its the Ulka pump, why is humming with the power on at the wall, but the machines power button is switch off? :-/
How do I fix this problem?Tags: None
