Re: Silvia lost steaming pressure!
Can pump a good flow of hot water through, yes.
And yes, the temp display shows an increase from 88o to 140o.

Re: Silvia lost steaming pressure!
Test 1 - can you pump a good flow of hot water through the wand. If no, then the valve, feed pipe, or the wand itself is clogged.
If yes:
I would ask if the temperature display on the PID shows an increase in temperature when steam mode is selected. If no then there is a problem with the steam switch or possibly the thermostat (wrong one for steam?).
Let us know what happens with those tests and we can go from there.

Silvia lost steaming pressure!
In a bit of a situation guys that I was hoping could be rectified without sending the machine away to get serviced.
My Pidd silvia has lost almost all its steaming pressure as of this morning. Did everything the same as I have for the last 9 months, machine heated, I opened the valve and...not much happened. There is definitely some steam coming through, but not enough to make any effect.
I took off the wand tip and gave it a thorough clean to ensure there were no blockages, likewise with what I can reach in the wand itself.
The machine was serviced only ~2 months ago by what is imo the best coffee establishment in the region. They said theyd never serviced a Silvia before which did leave me a bit worried, but upon looking over the list of things they did to service it, I doubt that they would have damaged something themselves. That being said, I also doubt they would have been able to find any subtle problems.
Has anyone else has this sort of problem before, and how did you resolve it?
Does anyone have any suggestions for repair if required?Tags: None
