I have foud a em6910 for $350. I think it is only 6month-1yr old but the seller doesnt have the original recipt. Seems honest though. Should I do it? I cant afford $599 for a new one.

If it really is only 6 months old then its a fair price. If he bought it from one of the chain outlets they might be able to give him a new receipt so why not try asking for that? If he baulks at the idea then it probably isnt 6 months old.
I sold an Oscar in good condition yesterday for $300 to a fellow CSer....there are bargains to be had if you are patient.
Do you own a grinder yet?

Yeah, I have a brevil smart grinder. I know I should be able to get a good machine used for $300 but I just havent seen anything, and the cheapest I have seen a new 6910 is $599 even after some negotiation.

Maybe....
However the onus usually is on the owner to provide proof of purchase and lets be realistic......if the owner provides proof of purchase he gets instant service ( as in everyone knows where they stand straight up).
If the owner doesnt and expects the supplier to find the proof of date of purchase, they could be waiting a while. Trust me, we deal with all manner of suppliers and you can be waiting and waiting and waiting, when you expect them to check their records for something that you should have...its not high on their list of priorities and costly, for a supplier to search databases and archives to find something that you should have in your hand straight up.
Personally as as a client, I am suspicious of vendors that cant produce their proof of purchase for the item they are trying to sell me, and something else invariably comes along soon enough where everything falls into place. Its only an impression gained only from what youve written, but my opinion is its sounds suss and only you can decide if you really want to go there.

Not sure where you live but I have seen refurbished 6910s at the Sunbeam Outlet store in Redfern, Botany Street I think. For $400 or $450 cant remember. From memory they came with six months warranty and there were a heap of them.
