    Re: Ms Silvia leakage

Thanks for the plug Ausnadian, and glad you are well on your way again without having to wait until after the end of this month to have the thing seen to under guarantee.

Also noting of course that the cost of the parts is not the real cost of the parts. Job would have been done under guarantee but you would have paid the cost of freight both ways. Your parts therefore cost what they cost less the price you would pay to freight the machine both ways to get the service done under guarantee. The difference between them is then the cost of convenience for having the machine back up and running probably 3 weeks ahead of waiting for it to be repaired under guarantee.....thats priceless ;D!

The expansion valve could be rectified in a jiffy, but the flexi line is a binner

    Enjoy the coffee,
    Attilio

Hi there - came across this thread after i had the exact same problem - the teardown i was following Domestic Machine Repairs commercial link removed as per the Site Posting Policy was for a v2 i think and the hose is different. I sheared off whatever that middle part was when attempting to turn it

Is anyone able to let me know which part i've damaged - the hose or the valve - and what i did wrong?

      Thanks

//sorry didn't realise it was a commercial link - i hadn't paid much attention to the header, just assumed it was blog based on the content.

Looks to me like a reaction between dissimilar metals. Brass fitting & SS nut. You can see the corrosion where the nut meets the fitting
I'd be interested to see photos of this fitting on older machines to see if they've changed the design
