Re: Quaha Napoletana II - brew water not coming out of group?
Yep, you can take the coil assembly off (which I did when everything was stripped). I was going to take it apart but the hose barbs looked very clean so I left it.
They look just like the fuel cut off solenoids on LPG car systems, except slightly smaller, I have renewed a few of them in the past, there is nothing to them really.
Wont be able to have a play with the machine until next week unfortunately but will report back my finiding.
Cheers

Re: Quaha Napoletana II - brew water not coming out of group?
Just to add to Chriss comment - most of the 3 way valves Ive taken apart actually are repairable. You can normally unscrew the "end" and the whole gubbins is accessible. Im with you though artman - Id bet it is just crudded up. Clean and maybe lube and itll come good!
It is Australia day afterall - youve got the time

Re: Quaha Napoletana II - brew water not coming out of group?
Thanks Chris, I will take the solenoid apart and see what is going on. I didnt realise the 3 way valve also diverts water between the group and stem tap.
The insides of the boiler etc were quite clean, hardly any scale.
Thinking about it now, I guess it probably is sticking from not being used for a while (just like the vibe pump was), and just happened to function that one time.

Probably a dud solenoid coil or jammed solenoid per favour of your descale.
If you have the knowledge, test the coil and if all is well, disassemble and clean the solenoid.

Quaha Napoletana II - brew water not coming out of group?
I recently picked up a Quaha Napoletana II from a very generous CSer, I striped it down and gave evrything a clean and descale, freed the vibe pump and got it working.
When I put it all together, I tried running a brew but the water would not come out of the group, only via the steam tap if openened. I realised I didnt connect the wires to the 3 way solenoid. I connected them up and everything worked fine.
Then the next time I tried it the problem resurfaced. Water does not come out of the group when the brew switch is on (pump working fine - water comes out via OPV as system has no outlet), and I can open the steam tap and water comes out there ok.
Any ideas what is going on?
