If your filter basket is dual walled, single walled ones are available on evil bay.

Re: Low pressure on EM6900
Hi there. Im a long time reader, first time poster
Im using the original filter. I ripped the plastic insert out pretty much when I bought the machine on the recommendation of this forum, so thats not the issue.
Ill try the clean tonight to see if that helps.

Re: Low pressure on EM6900
rdu,
Welcome to Coffeesnobs.
Are you using a double walled filter with a blocked lower hole? If so, clear the hole with a needle.
Double walled filters are made to get fake crema from stale coffee and are supplied with the cheaper machines.
It is better to get a single walled filter and to use fresh beans.
Also have you cleaned the machine recently, in the way recommended by Sunbeam?

Low pressure on EM6900
Hi,
7 year old EM6900 (one of the last) and EM0480 grinder.
I seem to have low or reduced water pressure group head.
The machine has worked consistently well and predictably on a 12 - 15 grind producing a 25 - 30 sec double shot in the 2 o clock position. perfect, steady, like clockwork for its whole life.
Lately, it is almost impossible to prevent the gauge from going into the red and pouring 45-60 second trickle shot. I have also stepped the grinder back to 19/20 and cannot even tamp. I updose and level off the top lightly. Any kind of tamp basically blocks the shot so nothing comes through and not updosing gives you a soaking wet puck.
It has never had to be anywhere near this coarse in the entire 7 years I have had the machine, no matter what coffee i have used.
On an empty basket the water appears to come through normally, but Im not sure. I wondering whether the water flow is restricted in someway which is causing the gauge to shoot into the red zone.
Does anyone have any suggestions before I make the trek out to Seven Hills to get it looked at?
Thanks
