Thanks for the reply! Glad to hear they work well.

The main thing I'm wondering about now is the ingredients between the Cafetto and the Cino Cleano. The Cafetto is a lot more cost effective too. You can get two Cino's (100gms each) for the same price as 500gms of Cafetto.

I really would love some extra advice, as I'm really due to do a chemical backflush. I've had the machine since Christmas, and have been doing the automated program with just water every second day. I've cleaned the screens several times since then, and it really doesn't take long for oil residue to build up. I'm super fussy about cleaning the group head after every pull. I even use an old 20mm flat artists brush with most of the handle cut off. Works a treat!

A question about the cino cleano descaling solution... Does this product apply to the 6910? As it has a stainless lined thermo block. This product isn't just made for normal aluminium blocks is it?

Also does anyone know the difference between the cino cleano backflush cleaner I posted, and the standard Cafetto espresso backflush powder?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :-)

Didn't know that, old posts can have good info in them.
Maybe an issue with mine as it will go up into the black.
Mine is an old machine, I have used cafe cleaner on it a couple of times.
Maybe I should do it more often.

It was never cleaned in the 4 years before I got it, and did around 5000 coffees in that time.

Sorry to once again dig up an old thread, but I thought this is worth asking here, and not starting a new thread, as there is some really good info in here regarding cleaning already.

Has anyone tried the Cino Cleano products that Coffeeparts sell, in the 'cleaning products (home) section.

    http://www.coffeeparts.com.au/accessories/cleaner-home

    "Espresso Machine Backflush Cleaner
    Item code: JB-985-green
    by Cino Cleano

Designed to clean traditional espresso machines with 3-way solenoid valves. It will ensure your Espresso Machine is always clean & running to its optimum efficiency, producing fabulous coffee, day in, day out"

    "Espresso Machine Cleaning Solution
    Item code: JB-985-red
    by Cino Cleano
Designed to clean thermo block espresso machines (refer to your machine instruction manual if you are unsure of your machine type).

Cino Cleano Espresso Machine Cleaning Solution will clean old coffee oils, milk deposits and remove scale from your espresso machine. Regular use will keep your machine performing at it's best and producing great coffee everytime."

It sounds as if these products have been specifically made, or maybe marketed, for the 6900/6910 and the like. I'd love to know if anyone has had any experience with them.

They, in my opinion, do a great job.
Just to throw it out there, that's not necessarily the issue; dentures aren't coffee-machines and certain compounds that might not attack ceramics/plastics (or whatever dentures are made from) can still attack brass/aluminium might.

I'm not saying the tablets aren't fine, but that they're safe for dentures means nothing.

Dont forget to unscrew and remove the screen to make sure its real clean xD. I just removed mine about a month back to clean it and learned that wiping the screen with a cloth isnt a good idea as it traps the remnants of the coffee in the screen and the only way to remove them is to unscrew it and give it a good clean. Just backflush and dab a wet cloth to remove stubborn coffee grinds thatre stuck xD.

Somehow I cannot access the automated cleaning cycle on my EM6910.
I pressed the single and double pour buttons simultaneously and briefly pressed the power button. All it did was a regular single pour.

I wonder if anyone is having the same problem?
Just to confirm, was the machine off when you did this? And what do you mean by regular pour? Are you using the supplied rubber disc?

What I usually do is hold down both the single and double cup buttons, and then press the power button.

It will then light up from Left to Right and start pulling the first shot. It will pull about 5 short shots with 30 or so seconds between each shot.

Im assuming you have already got your backflushing detergent and rubber disc in your portafilter.

The machine will start pulling a shot and the pressure will then beggin to build up. Once the machine stops pulling a shot, it will flush some of the chemicals via the 3 way valve.
