Re: Help... is Silvia OK???
Congratulations on the birth of your boy Mossicaf.
But I am at a loss over the purpose of your post: You seem to be looking to diagonose problems which are not necessarily there.
If it aint broke, what is the problem?

Re: Help... is Silvia OK???
so long as the boiler is full of water and the machine isnt steaming, you shouldnt have any problems. I turn my machine off to save power and reduce wear on parts, otherwise it would stay on.Originally posted by mossicaf link=1181601712/0#0 date=1181601711Hi all,
A few months ago on my recommendation the company ordered a Silvia + Rock combo from the good people at Cosmorex here in Canberra.
I wasnt at work last Friday (my wife and I went to hospital where number 3 was born - a boy) and so wasnt able to supervise Silvia... so I come into work today to find that poor silvia had been left on over the long weekend!
I thought she had only been on since maybe 7am (got in late at 8:15am) so bled the steaming wand (took a while!).
She is now turned off and awaits your wisdom!!
My questions:
1) Is she ok??
2) What sort of problems might I expect?
3) What symptoms of (2) should I look out for?
Thanks in advance,
Graham aka mossicaf
(Oh poor Silvia, I am sorry I left you alone last week!)

Re: Help... is Silvia OK???
PHEW!
After a good rest I just warmed her up again ... she still heats!
The real test will come when I pull some coffee later today (when the beans arrive).
Good tip on the timer - just the thing for the office environment.

Re: Help... is Silvia OK???
Is she still heating? If so, then youve gotten away with it. If not, then youll need to reset a switch and keep your fingers crossed that she hasnt blown the element. Details can be found here: http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1148872402
Either way, put Silvia on a timer - theyre under $10 dollars, and a lot cheaper than replacing the element, which also involves replacing the boiler. Attilio at Cosmorex would have explained to you that this isnt covered under warranty. Good luck.
