Re: HELP! water droplet on the gauge screen (em691

robusto: The steam is actually come out from the shower screen when warming up the machine. I took it back to myer and they said they will send it to sunbeam for me.

Expresso: I havent got an exchange becos they are out of stock. I try to ask them can i get a new one from the other shop and they said no. Becos ive used it. And i cant get a refund. Therefore, no choice ive to wait. So unluck to get a bad machine~~~~really want it back ASAP.

But overall it is a gd machine.

I wouldnt accept that from the retailer... AT ALL,

Their argument has absolutely no credence as the value of the goods doesnt come into the equation. We bought an Amana 740Lt 2-Door fridge a few years ago and after it was delivered and installed, I noticed a very small scratch on the bottom of the Freezer Door that had a little surface rust in it. Contacted Kleenmaid the next day and that afternoon they came around and replaced the fridge with another brand new one and didnt leave until I was entirely happy with the new unit. That fridge was worth $5,500 and Kleenmaid didnt even blink at the prospect of replacing the fridge... I thought that they may have just replaced the door with a new one but no, their policy is that if you pay top money for a top of the range fridge then you deserve to have what you paid for, not a repaired one.

Id get back to that retailer and demand a replacement, you have the right to expect to be able to use a new appliance that you have just paid for, not wait four weeks while they tool around stuffing you about. Get stuck into em mate, its not good enough....

      Mal.

I hope this is not a new standard of "service" from Myers new owners. Even under the hopelessly bad retail management of the Coles group Myer tried hard to maintain its reputation of pleasing the customer.

A couple of years ago I read that coffee machines are its biggest-selling appliance....or, that Myer was the biggest seller of coffee machines. One or the other.

In any case, taking back a new gadget for repair when the trend to be complete, brand new replacement for up to 2 years, is a retrograde move.

            Hi Segilun,

I feel for you - I agree that it is totally unacceptable that Myers/Sunbean is making you wait 4 weeks to repair a machine that is only 2 weeks old. I always thought that Myer was good to their customers in terms of customer service. I once returned a bathroom scale to them after 1 year of use (it broke) and they gave me a full refund (I didnt expect that, but was very pleased).

Id go back to them and (calmly) explain that you have been sold a faulty product and would like to have a full refund. Yes, it has been used (for 2 weeks), but how else would you have been able to discover that it was faulty? You totally deserve a refund. If the store clerk wont help you, ask to speak to their manager, and then their manager, etc. If you still dont get any help, write a letter to the CEO of Myer and copy the head of the service department. Just stay calm the whole time - it doesnt pay to get yourself all worked up.

Once you get your refund, you can then decide whether to purchase another (maybe this time from David Jones?), or purchase another type of machine.

Good luck and tell us how you go.

            Cheers, Mary

For a start do a little online research on you r consumer rights in Victoria.
Not all state laws are the same.

Here in NSW you could have asked for an instant refund.

Secondly, you could try and bluff them if the laws there arent as good as here.

Tell them that there were two transactions involved.
1-Myer bought the faulty machine from Sunbeam.
              2-Myer sold it to you.

Tell them they can argue with Sunbeam about their own purchase because thats their problem.
Tell them you refuse to put up with them selling you a faulty machine and want them to fix the 2nd transaction problem.
Be loud if you think it will help.
Hint at how many people you can tell about the lousy customer service in the the next 4 weeks (and beyond).

But all the time be polite and firm.

So all of u suggest me to go back tomorrow and ask for refund? They havent given me the exchange becos they run out of stock in store (Maybe becos of the stockstake sales). I think ill go again and ask for exchange from other store. But ive only got a recipe and a repairment sheet. Do u think they will give me any chance to get a new one?

Becos i think 4 weeks are very very long. I can accept 2 weeks.

Also, I only own the machine for 4days

Talked to sunbeam representive today. They said the repair time will reduce to 2 weeks. Which is a lot better

Well, I guess a small win is better than no win sugilun,

Hope you have a good cafe nearby while you wait. All the best,

                    Mal.
