saw on another site a thread outlining the advantages of preheating the water prior to entry into the boiler by running it through a small heat exchanger that is mounted touching the boiler..apparently gives really good temp stability during the shot...anyone done this? am thinking it might be fun to do to the Gaggia Classic now I have done the PID install...nice and basic..some copper tubing wrapped around the boiler and runs in between the pump and the boiler..have not done the calculations to work out what volume would be preheating at any one time whilst the machine was idle....but I am guessing it could be up to 100 mls which would be pretty good
any thoughts?
any thoughts?

. I would expect thin tubing to work best since the pressure loss may help reduce the pressure enough so that the OPV doesnt need to operate.
