Re: Faulty Elektra Semi Automatic
Thanks alot for the tip dude, after a bit of tinkering I was able to get the cover off and now I have the hand back on. I was also able to clean the inside of the gauge and now it looks newOriginally posted by 7F766576617061767E72130 link=1270468791/7#7 date=1270704605when the machine is dead cold you can pull the glass (plastic) and cover off and gently push it back on so the tip is resting on the stop.

What happened to the needle? If its just sitting at the bottom behind the glass then, when the machine is dead cold you can pull the glass (plastic) and cover off and gently push it back on so the tip is resting on the stop.Originally posted by 2E262B2E214F0 link=1270468791/5#5 date=1270685048
Never the less I would like it all to "somewhat" work
, so I have some range where things are at..
Mine was giving a false .5 reading at cold and false 1.5 or so when hot - easy fix.
You might have a feel for the machine but if the PS goes and you dont know it you might get more than a feel.

Re: Faulty Elektra Semi Automatic
doesnt look too bad to me. maybe if it is spluttering lots more than before, pressure is up. Id be buying a new gauge and go from there. then maybe adjust pressure down (which is really simple) or maybe need a new pressurestat (whihc isnt much more difficult to fit).
it will always need a flush before making coffee. Even if you drop the presusre right down to the point where it is pretty useless for steaming with, it will still need a flush before use.
dont know it is possib le anyway! i assume this is talking about putting in a flow adjuster on the thermosyphon (or even just putting a washer in the thermosyphon). but cant do that on an elektra.Originally posted by 7C756675627362757D71100 link=1270468791/4#4 date=1270683617Dont waste your money on thermo thingy upgrades. These machines dont need this stuff.

Lol not that bad general use of intuition an using this machine for years you get a feel for things. The Elektra guage is as accurate as a 1940s Ferrari, in other words its pretty useless. So I have learnt not to pay much attenion to it.

I have never had a fire cracker up my butt so cant
really reference that sensation and correlate that with making espresso.

But working any coffee machine with a bung boiler gauge is like asking someone to stick a cracker up your butt and light the fuse.Originally posted by 777F727778160 link=1270468791/3#3 date=1270646716NotedOriginally posted by 79263E282328242D2D2E2E262A254B0 link=1270468791/1#1 date=1270470258QED I reckon....
Take it for a service and get them to lower boiler pressure or do a thermostability upgrade if someone will look at it.
Thanks
Unfortunately the pressure gauge had stopped working two months in which that meter hand had come off :P.Originally posted by 272E3D2E3928392E262A4B0 link=1270468791/2#2 date=1270596257Whats the gauge reading when this happens? Is it sky high? If it is then the chances are all you need is a new pressurestat from coffee parts or Elektra.
Thanks for the advise
I suspect you just need a new pressure stat - and a fixed gauge.

More information needed. Is this after you press the brew switch? - before? While idling? Video tells nothing.Originally posted by 515954515E300 link=1270468791/0#0 date=1270468790Hey Guys,
My Coffee machine is playing up and needs servicing. I was just wondering if any of you guys would know of a quick-fix I could do to the machine or know exactly what is causing the issue. This has been happening for the last 2 weeks and is ruining my extractions. It usually happens when the temp/pressure is high. I need a COFFEE DOCTOR

At the moment it just looks like a cooling flush.
This is a 2003 machine yes?

What I see is typical thermonuclear Elektra bling :
Take it for a service and get them to lower boiler pressure or do a thermostability upgrade if someone will look at it...
