So spoke with tech, they said would send courier to pick up but couldn't say when and would have to wait in

I offed to drop off, so I have at Ultimo who said it might get looked in the next 2 weeks and then might have to go back to head office no idea of how long!

Oh and the same old Wednesday issue, their only day to send back to head office is Wednesday!

When mine did the same thing yours did, Breville sent the courier out the next day and I had it back within a week. I was really impressed with their customer service. I would expect if you dropped it off at Ultimo it would only be a few days - Barry found that.

Not a complaint about the service just a comment, sounds like it might have been quicker to use the currier

There are some advantages to be living in Sydney.

Did Len tell you what it was?

Looks like a bung O ring like mine. He fixed mine within one day.

I was surprised when they mentioned 2 weeks at Ultimo. Maybe that is the standard answer from the girls when Len is not there.

Len told me he keep some spare bits and when I was there he was going to Breville H.Q for some more spares.

I just thought a single spout would be something different.
As the flow is not under pressure in the spouts it should not change the coffee flavour unless you don't clean the portafilter and spouts properly.

I use mine bottomless most of the time. Easy to keep clean, pours well into a small cup and it lets me know if the dose and tamp is not spot on by spurting.

Yes Len said it was the the o rings

He said he fitted the upgraded ones, which I guess means that they know they will fail

should this be a recall or at least should there be an intention be fixed out of warranty?

It could have been worse...at least they weren't made from asbestos

                            • I expect that many more O rings in early machines will soon fail. Mine went at just under one year. I don't know for how long the crook rings were used. The rings in machines you buy new now and the replacement ones should have a much longer life.

By the way drinking asbestos is not as bad on our health as breathing it in. Anyhow these days it seams that just about anything we eat, drink, breath, wear or stand in is now a health hazard.

                              • Hi All, My first post here and looking for a bit of advice.

Got a nice new Breville on the weekend and having a lot of fun with it so far. I have a bag of Coffee Snobs Espresso WOW beans roasted on the 29th of August, when will they be right to use?

Also have been looking on cafetto website for cleaning tablets but don't see the Breville double boiler listed, what tablets are you guys using and is backwashing the cleaning procedure described in the owners manual.

Any help would be much appreciated. thanks.
