To get the shot counter, with the machine turned off, while pressing the four buttons below the LCD screen, press the POWER button. The number shown on the screen times ten equals the number of shots your machine has done over, I think, 7 seconds.

Here in Canada, Breville wants to tack on about another $35 on top of the $89 price. I don't need one that badly.
Usually, the espresso machines are much cheaper from another seller, like Amazon.ca, than directly from Breville. But it seems that few or none of the other sellers carry the portafilters.

Not to add insult to injury, but the brevilleusa site lists the Naked PF at $79.99. I don't know the exchange rates, so maybe that's the same.Originally posted by joes View PostHere in Canada, Breville wants to tack on about another $35 on top of the $89 price. I don't need one that badly.

If you know any machinists you can get your current PF cut out, prolly for a whopping $20 or so. Ask around your neighborhood auto replace places, someone will know someone.
Has anyone seen any news of the new stuff on any Breville sites? I'm curious if there are any new baskets announced.

Yep it's going to be interesting to see how much channelling I'm gettingOriginally posted by PrescottCR View PostGood deal! I find the spots make a messier set up for me.
You won't regret getting naked....
Just ordered it straight from Breville, that was the price I was quoted. Second double basket was $9, was going to get a VST but figured it would be easier to switch between handles this wayOriginally posted by joes View PostIf you don't mind me asking, where did you order it from?

The Breville baskets are quite a steal at $9(US) each. Prolly the best deal in baskets out there IMHO.
Some tips with the VSTs- There are many more holes. Many. The baskets will require a finer grind for similar times. They will also expose any weakness in you technique, or grinder. Especially when combined with your Naked PF. When I did my training it was on a Synesso with 21g VST baskets and a K10 fresh. That grinder put out 21g in something like 5 seconds or less, our home grinders are gonna take more like 12 or more for 18g. You'll also realize how spoiled we are with those Breville baskets when you go to knock your puck out
That said, your shots will be deeper & wider in flavor. Like listening to a whole orchestra live vs with earbuds. Well, maybe not that drastic, the Breville baskets are really top-of-the-line for a home machine. They're more like expensive headphones I guess.
I'm just now using the VST 15g again and am happy with it.
Enjoy your new stuff!

Oh they come out okay, my point was only that it takes a bit more of a knock than the Breville baskets. Probably because of the sloped sides.Originally posted by Hildy View PostI've never had problems knocking the puck out with VST baskets unless I've forgotten to do it and the machine has been sitting for hours.
Which size basket are you using and how much are you loading them? If you don't mind the inquiry.
If you do leave a puck in the basket and it gets dried out you can always push a little water through it to get it to knock out. It's a bit messy but easy. I'm sure if you've been pulling shots for some time you know that, but it bears repeating for others.

Breville Australia, sorry should have mentioned that.Originally posted by joes View PostIs that Breville USA? or??
Pulled my first naked shot this morning (and two more since then!), glad to find out that I have no channeling issues at all! (as evidenced by a lack of coffee being shot everywhere). Surprising how much difference the naked makes in terms of flavour; my sense of taste isn't particularly delicate/sensitive, but I did pick up more depth in the shot. Might have to do some back-to-back tastings.
Heres a quick video
