Thank you VERY MUCH, Barry. The damned Quick Start folder is to blame, then (I once had a revolting brother-in-law whose favourite utterance was that "blame must be allocated !"). I shall rissole it.
You just need a new solenoid. Whether the double tap is contributory to this I'm not sure.
The solenoid takes the most wear during the shot as the coil is energised and heats up and heat is bad for electronics. When it's only used momentarily I don't think it would affect the longevity of it noticeably.
Found the leak - where the tube from the pump enters the steam boiler, I figured it's an o-ring but it turned out there were 2 o-rings in there, surely Breville would not be silly enough to think that would work other than as a temporary bodge...can anybody enlighten me if this is how they are supposed to be?:
Any idea if this is the only "spout" with 2 orings ?
Reason why I ask, I could hear steam pressure leaking on my BDB, opening the top up I found the temp probe going from the steam boiler was leaking at the boiler end. Waited for machine to cool down, opened up and took the pipe out. Seems like there has been some leakage for a while as there is rust.
Anyways when taking the temp probe out, I noticed only 1 o-ring , maybe 2 o-rings would stop the pressure leak?
Greetings all! Hope to get some much needed assistance for all the experts out there. . I believe my breville has the same or similar issue to some users on this post. I have the temp set to 93 degrees, so when it starts up it will heat accordingly and stop there. I can make the coffee. then if I leave it on and come back later to make another , it will be on standy/sleep mode and then I press any button for it to heat up but this time it will go to 93 and stay on 93 and flash 93 and will not be able to make any coffee. I was wandering what is causing this and what parts would I need to replace to rectify this? Also what parts do people recommend to replace as general maintenance if I end up pulling it apart. I have the coffee machine for 3 and half years now. Any assistance on this matter will be much appreciated.
I was after a replacement portafilter for my BES900 Dual Boiler. The model number of the portafilter is BES058NP.
I live in Australia. Is there anywhere that sells this part that can ship to Australia? Breville AU is sold out, none of the US sellers ship to Australia (Breville US, Amazon US, etc). Does anyone know of any Australian-friendly alternatives? Thanks heaps!
I've had this machine for a couple of years now and am really happy with it. In the last few months though I've had moisture slowly building up in the lcd screen, to the point now the screen is unreadable. I've searched around but cant anything on this.
The BES900 has 2 flow meter. One bevor and one after the OPV. The accuracy of the 2 buttons (one or 2 cups) is as know not very well. There is an instruction available how to change the opv to a non plastic vone
Has anyone change the 2 flow meters? ...hopefully to a non-plastic version
In the picture I marked one flow meter. Which one is this, the one bevor or after the OPV? ...and where is the other one?
Hi, snobbers,
I'm buying an 'as new' BES900, (sight unseen at this stage), and now I'm questioning whether it's a 'B' version or the original.
Does Breville label the model differently to the original; is it branded a BES900B?
Are there any visible identifying features that distinguish the two? Would a serial number lead me to the answer?
