Thanks noidle22. I didn't know that the square gasket was a temporary fix. The opv, if it leaks it's not into the body of the machine. Pump seams to operate ok. At least its as noisy as its always been. Lately the pressure is pulsating a little as cleaning with the blind filter in.

bb2wa, it seems like we've both got similar problems. However, after making more than 30 cups, I am convinced that my pressure gauge is just showing incorrect pressure. I am still getting 60ml in 30 secs, so I doubt that it's brewing at 3-5 bars.
When you say water is coming down the tray, is that with the blind filter in? Because mine does that too after about 30 seconds when I put the blind filter in and run a 2 cup. Is this not just the OPV releasing pressure above the set brew pressure?
Also, where abouts are you getting your spare parts in Perth?

Haven't ever measured coffee volume accurately. I eyeball time and volume. Use to do 30 secs incl pre-infuse on 1 cup auto. Now I do 40 secs or up to 45 secs on manual incl infuse time. Coffee still tastes great so far.
The square gasket was from appliance spare parts firm in Wangara. They advertise online. Still have some gasket kits.
The opv kit? Will try Breville.

Perhaps but I never checked before! Pressure is definitely lower. No reason to think my gauge has changed.

Maybe duct to gauge is stacked with gasket remainings. Try to clean it with some wite for example. Also check if gauge tubing is not stacked.Originally posted by bb2wa View PostMy BES900 is 4 years old. At 2 years old it was serviced due to falling pressures. Similar thing happened again. Instead of 9 on the gauge I get 5 with a blind filter and about 3 when pulling a shot. I dismantled solenoid gasket area and replaced button gaskets with newer kit gasket and used the washers shown which prevent excessive crushing of gasket and fluted liners which are presumably to stop gasket spreading too much and blocking holes. However, it hasn't changed pressures. Any suggestions what else may be the problem?
Cheers

Have last favor request about protafilter. Could someone measure tabs/wings height of it?

Problem solved!!
Thanks everyone for help especially noidle22 who was spot on. OPV kit (Coffee Valve Safety Kit Part BES900/06.6) was installed. After a few adjustments, which are quite sensitive, I now have 10 on the gauge with blind filter. Less pulling a shot. May fine tune that down a whisker later but will leave for now.
cheers and thanks

Hello everyone I just had a question about repairing a leak I could hear for a while now in my machine... Ive opened it up and narrowed it to where the black and red wires connect to the boiler. Just trying to track down the part required to fix this issue and was wondering if it would be preferable to change the other similar o rings as a preventative measure as well?

Yeah - shouldn't be too difficult - from memory - you need to take off the bottom plate - about 30 billion screws to undo. Make sure you remove the water tank first, before you flip the machine on its side.
Also - the little raising wheel needs to come off too. For that - you need to undo the little screw under the plastic cover inside the knob you turn to raise it up. Use a thin blade and slowly ease up the cover, so that you don't scratch or damage it in the process.
Disclaimer: It's been a little while since I had to clean an ants nest from the bottom of the machine, so I can't recall correctly whether the LED was accessible through there… I could be waaaaaay off.

Dear All,
I was reading the thread from the past, and gave me a good insights about my Gastroback machine (Breville BES900XL rebranded). In the beggining when I bought the machine, with the Blind/cleaning pad insert my machine was giving 9.5 - 10 Bars constantly without issues.
the last month, I couldn't reach my typical pressure with my coffee. which made me feel strange. Today I put my Portafilter with the blind to test again, and I saw the machine can Marginally reach 8Bars... sometimes it jumped for a bit to 8.5 and back to 8 (more 7.7-8).
The first thing I did was to remove the shower and also was the rubber/check the rubber... but nothing happened. What is next to check? I was thinking of building an Gauge for my portafilter, and test my Pressure gauge status.
The machine is 1 year and 3 months old. I take about 6-8 shots every day... cleaning it properly etc....
