I feel that I really do need to follow this through to the end as I was lied to about the repair work which never happened and in doing so will undo the fantastic work done by Phil and Breville.

...really makes you understand why people dont trust service centres, especially with a just out machine and decide to do things themselves  ;D

Ive always been able to get mine to sit on 9 bar but now the coffee is soooooo much better, also dropped the pre-infusion time to 3 seconds and the pressure to 55 (as low as it can go)

Doesnt sound like it to me?

I think its a good thing to keep in mind that these are independently operated businesses which then charge Breville for work done on their behalf. Like all businesses, some are service oriented and some sadly are not.

In my experience, when one party loses it, both parties too frequently behave in the same manner and the outcome for all concerned is usually poor.

I am sure that Breville are less than happy with your service experience groover and will follow up. Perhaps it would have been better to speak with them first as the decision to go public appears to have inflamed the situation.  :-?

Phil, if your guys would like to authorise me just to do the OPV, Im only too happy

The upside is that others are now alerted to this poor service and that wouldnt have been necessary if the agent had performed to expectation

What you say has some merit to it .
I did ring Breville but they said put it in writing and we will look into it.
When some one blatantly lies to your face, either out of ignorance or sheer laziness I just cant handle that.
I just feel if they are trying to charge Breville for fixing my PF problem when they havent to me thats just another clear injustice and it needs to be said in public.

I did my demo as well SS- with the full knowledge that in doing so, I can no longer expect Breville to provide warranty on my machine.

As its one of many demos, I dont really care that much if I kill it but I would expect that most CSers would prefer to have a warranty.  :-?

This job should be done by an authorised and appropriately qualified service agent.

                                Agree.

There is a link and info elsewhere on how to open the back of the 900 to access the opv. It is NOT the best or safest way to open the machine to perform the adjustment.

Sorry to hear of your woes Groover. I hope you are able to find a happy resolution soon.
