Working all fine, now pulling shot after shot trying to get the single shot basket to work, keep getting either under extracted shots or quasi ristrettos!
Double shot basket was pretty spot on on second pull

but went back to the shop and swapped over for a new one today.
well that is at least one advantage of dealing with a big company like breville and their distribution chain I suppose, if its faulty take it back and swap for a new one!
Thanks for the note, appreciate the direct service
I actually tried all the above yesterday and unfortunately no luck, only just saw your note, but went back to the shop and swapped over for a new one today. Just got home and plugging it in now so fingers crossed!

There was a bit of a worry at first - the machine was turned on and stopped heating at around 42C. It went up very slowly from there and 30 minutes later was only at 53C and seemed stuck at 53/54
Whats happening here is an air lock in the espresso boiler is preventing it from filling completely so it wont heat up to 93. If you open the hot water tap during filling, but only for a short period, the air lock is released & the boiler fills completely & heats to 93. A small PITA with no real out of the box solution other than a flyer..........
Posted in the owners thread but unfortunately swamped by the healthy debates on there!
Desperate advice needed as unpacked my BDB yesterday, installed the filters and fired her up. But the temp wouldnt get past 62 deg!
Saw phils note on the owners thread re the air valve, so tried opening and shutting both the hot water and steam to purge, as well as switching on and off but to no avail.
Almost seems like it is getting to 62 from associated heat from the steam boiler as when I flush the steam the unit rapidly heats up to 62 as the steam boiler reboils.
