I guess you mean "probably arent positioning...." Luca
Thanks for that; having pulled an all-nighter to hand in my evidence law exam this morning, I really wanted another cross-examination as to credibility ;P

I guess it is a sign of the times.... Coffee (generally bad, black, instant coffee) was always the domain of the Computer science students..... needed to keep one awake during the hours of writing programs

            Re: EM6910 Newbie Question

The screeching sound that I was referring to doesnt happen on my machine. It was in reference to people that sink the wand down to the bottom of the stainless steel base of the jug which creates that dreadfull sound.

My machine has already been in for a steam pump replacement once.

It looks like there is a pattern developing here. Steaming seems to be the weak point with this new version...

All the more reason to buy an old cockroach castle and spend multiple hundreds getting it running.

Nah! Total cost of converting double cockroach castle into full steam ahead (both wands ) fantastic espresso machine was about $60 ......

                    maybe I was lucky!!!

Its good to be pedantic, but remember in the real world you will be working to tight budgets and even tighter timelines so the perfect solution is not often the one that ends up on the product be it a coffee machine, car or aircraft. My boss keeps telling me that the universities are graduating more lawers than engineers to ensure we look at designs not only from a functional standpoint but from a risk perspective. Not sure that is true but you get the idea.

                            Matt

                            Unfortunately too true mate.

Remember when a car manufacturer in the US made a car in which the petrol tank exploded on impact - often fatally for the occupants... It was as a result of an engineering shortcut! Did they recall the cars (which the engineers no doubt wanted to do)? Nope- they consulted their lawyers who advised litigation from families of the "dead" would cost the manufacturer less than fixing the fault..... and that became their policy (until the media got hold of the story)....

Firms value legal advice more highly than that from other professional advisors and dont even consider its "the right and moral thing to do".... says something about our values and the litigious society we live in- and the need for so many .......... lawyers : :

...the need for so many lawyers is because we live by the rule of law...without which we would be in anarchy.

Says a litigation Barrister (not Barista).

                              Cheers
