Oh man I have upgraditis so bad! The Minore II sounds great but I Loved the pics of the Unico Splendor  - All I can think is that there is no chance Mrs Grendel would make me hide THAT beauty away on the shoppers bench where my Faema is.

I reckon two and a half grand is a bargain for that package.

Now, where is that lotto ticket. . .
You and me both Grendel   I notice Chris was offering the Thundergod version of the Splendor so I wonder how much of a royalty would have to be paid  :

This may have to be considered as a serious contender to take over from my Sunbeam 6900 when it has had its day. Sounds like a good machine, but are there any downsides to one of these, as I want all points for a long decision time frame, want to get the best for my third machine.

Expobar Minore II - I just love it

One of the reasons I jumped up to the Expobar late last year was the lure of being able to doing multiple coffees for a house full of guests.

I got my first proper test yesterday.

The youngster had her christening and we had about 60 people back to our place for morning tea.

My in-laws once owned a tea room and still had a large number of coffee cups/saucers from those days and were kind enough to lend them to us for the day.

I decided to use Altitude blend as the coffee of the day.
This coffee seems to peak at 10-18 days in my opinion, so I roasted about 800g of it on 27/01/07.
My backup was 500g of Peru Grace Estate (+4 days) if required.

The machine coped without missing a beat. We did over 50 coffees and 2 hot chocs.
No tea was requested. Not sure if people didnt want any or were just too afraid to ask the obsessed coffee guy.

Went through nearly all the altitude and about 7 litres of milk.
I did mostly a mixture of flat whites and cappas.
2 long blacks were ordered. No idea if the recipients liked them or not.
Many people complimented, no-one complained, but I doubt that anyone would have complained as they would have thought they were being rude.

Several people appeared back at the machine after their first cup looking hopeful for another.
I took that to mean they liked the coffee.

Very happy with how it went.

Gave the machine a good clean last night, and had a Peru to cap off the night. Yum.

    Brett.
Working...
