Thank you for the reply iampivot. I believe that is a bit longer than a 900's shot clock.

      BES900 Water Issue

Hi Barry, I may be experiencing one of the issues you refer to here - my BES900 has suddenly developed a problem when pouring the shot where the water pressure and volume has reduced significantly. I was worried it was the pump however reading your comment it gave me hope it's just an o-ring degradation. When I pour it now flows slowly with about 3 bar of pressure and theres a "bubbling" sound afterwards. Does this sound similar to the issue with the o-ring? If so can I fix it or do I need to take it in for repair?

      Cheers
      Graeme

It is expected to be out by Xmas at the same price as the 900.

Well the 920 is now on the USA site.

        the Dual Boiler

Oddly enough it hasn't replaced the BES900XL, rather it lists at another $100 with added features including a 2 year limited warranty. They're both listed at 1700 Watts, for some reason I thought they were 1800.

          So I took the plunge...

And bought a Red BES920 here in the US.

The added functionality is nice. While it is priced $100 over the BES900, the warranty is now 2 years instead of 1 here in the US. As it should be!

Also- the basket that came with the 920 is much different than the 900. No tapering and more holes. So all my notes on grind settings and doses are out. The new double basket is heavier and looks a LOT like a VST basket. Is that what you're seeing in Australia? Also the portafilter seems different in a minor way, there's a level spot just before the basket that might be a must have for the group head.

I'm sure the old basket would work fine, maybe I'll switch them out tomorrow and see.

Seems to be a quiet thread here, so I'm hoping that means all is going smoothly.
