Hi,
I had been make coffee for about 3 months. Got the settings perfect (for me). So, I came to my machine and made a coffee and it’s terrible. It is very restricted flow, takes over a minute to come out and tastes very very bad (obviously)
My original settings were:
• Breville BES900 expresso maker
• Breville BCG800XL coffee grinder
• 93 degC
• 25s pour, from when coffee begins purging (ie. +7seconds in total)
• Using Breville grinder on second finest grind setting.
• 220g coffee (but this includes portafilla and a two-cup, single-walled basket)
• consistent firm tamp.
• 8-9 bar
• gives approx 40ml shot.
So now I get, with all previous settings:
• if nothing a trickle, if.
• 9-10 bars.
• (makes the same volume shot in well over 1 min)
Without coffee in the portafiller the coffee flows as normal.
Moving the grinder well back into the expresso grind returns full flow but the taste isn't at all the same. Does anyone have any ideas?
thanks!
