6910 steam wand pump pulsating

I power up the machine each morning and the steam wand pump begins pulsating, emitting a low pressure hiss. If I turn the steam dial just slightly, it stops. The machine brews fine otherwise so wondering what the issue could be.

The machine is 3 1/2 years old and is in use every day. This problem has been ongoing for a while now and I'd like to have it fixed, should it not be too expensive. I must admit that I have not cleaned this for a few months however this problem was evident prior to the last clean.

Does it start again when you've made your milk and turned the steam off? Or is it that once you move the knob it stops for good until next time you start up?

Maybe take the knob off and check there's nothing blocking proper movement?

WOW, should have posted months ago! Took off the knob and unscrewed the brass pin, gave it a clean and low and behold no leak. Thanks for the simple tip Journeyman
