Thanks for the prompt reply CM.
Yes Mal, they're a nicer seal than the standard rubber ones. I'm using one myself and will buy a couple for Mum's Silvia.

Will Cafelat silicon group seal fit Silvia?

No, the silicone seems to be of a relatively high Shore Number and therefore quite hard for a silicone rubber. Probably my description of it being more pliant is not a good one. Feels similar to the hardness of a hydraulic O-Ring, if that's any guide, but definitely not as hard as the original rubber replacements.

Huh. Good point. Can miss thread titles on tapatalk timeline. Is the silicon too soft? Without knowing there were alternate group seal materials other than rubber I always wondered how a polyurethane seal would go.Originally posted by Vinitasse View PostMade from silicon actually... as per the title of the post
I had noticed my stovetops have silicon seals.

The Cafelat Group Gaskets are great by the way....
Have had one in my E-61 machine for a few months now. Much more pliant than the original hard rubber ones which makes it a lot easier to close (and seal) the Group Handle properly and of course, no more stinky hot rubber smell...

If the listed one is green and listed as Rancilio, yes. If it is red or blue and listed as E61, then no!

Will Cafelat silicon group seal fit Silvia?
Hi Guys,
Not sure if this has been covered before.
Can anyone tell me if any of the Cafelat silicon group seals shown in BeanBay will fit a Silvia V3?
I'd measure it, but it's not my machine.
Thanks, MarkTags: None
