Breville BES900/BES920 portafilter compatibility

    There's not much in it but it doesn't take much to make a difference here. The 920 lugs are slightly thicker and the 'ramp' profile is just a chamfer on the lower leading corner whereas the 900 lugs are ramped more or lees the entire underside. Welding and grinding/polishing would be possible but cost effective? Questionable. There's a picture of both pfs together somewhere in the BES900 owners thread. Happy searching

    Bugger!

    How different is the lug design? My father is a welder and the PF is S/S so it would easy-ish for him to build up the lugs and then grind them back to the correct shape. If it is more than just lug design I tight not be worth the effort.

    A '900 filter will not tighten sufficiently in a BES920. The '900 filter will likely spin out when pressurized. The 920 got a group head collar redesign and the portafilter lugs were reprofiled.

    Hi all

    Anyone know for certain if a bes900 PF will fit into a bes920? It's cheaper and easier to find a 900 PF to cut into a naked than finding a 920.
