  • Cleaning pin

    Hi all,

Does anyone know where I could get a cleaning pin in Melbourne CBD? The one that came with my machine has been lost!

    Thanks heaps!!!

Have no idea what you're referring to mate....

Any chance of a link to a photo and/or description?

Blind filter perhaps (laterally thinking of cleaning pan)

That's a much better guess than anything I could come up with, flynnaus.

Some Sunbeam machines come with a "cleaning pin" to help clean out any crusty old milk in the tip of the steam wand

I even tried googling 'cleaning pin'

Sounds like a good way to up-sell a paper clip. Almost as good as the blokes who invented the 'Magic'.

More likely it’s a “pin of cleaning tool”
I use to have a Breville 800ES and remember that tool, one side much finer then paper clip.
              (Un)fortunately it’s gone, can’t help.

Maybe an ordinary clothes pin will do the job...

Or even a toothpick. So the answer to the OP's original question is "Most probably in your house, or at worst, a trip to your local deli or Coles may be in order"

                    These work a treat.
Normaly used to clean Oxy Acetylene welding tips.
                    Available at any welding supplier.

I usually just hold the filter basket upside down firmly against the kitchen tap and blast it with a bit of water. Any stubborn blockages I attack with a toothpick

The Pallo coffee brush heads that I use have a pin on the reverse.

I have a double ended pricker similar to that shown by AZS above. I occasionally clean my steam tip with it.

I think it came with my Breville.

The cleaning pin that came with my EM6910 doesn't even fit in the steam wand or basket holes...
