Hey everyone,
I went looking for a super auto on the weekend. I just wanted something relatively quick and easy as I have no idea how to make a decent coffee! Really, no idea...Im useless and uncoordinated. Just wanted something to make me a simple latte in the morning...how hard could it be?
Wanted to spend somewhere around $1500, a little more if I had to.
So Im perusing the aisles and a sexy little Krups catches my eye...the Krups XP7240 for $1230 including a 5 yr warranty. It was cool, it was compact and it looked like my latte could be on its way any second!
And everyone here can predict what happened next....DISASTER! The milk....oh god the milk. It isnt hot, its barely even luke warm. And the froth is inconsistent...sometimes lots, sometimes none at all (Latte setting). And I cant even get a strong enough coffee without putting in a few shots.
So the little machine that promised so much and delivered so little is going back to the store *sigh* I must admit, despite the substandard coffee, I will miss it...its just so pretty on my bench!
So what should I get instead? Im throwing up between a Saeco and a Jura...maybe considering a Delonghi if the budget can stretch that far. Does anyone have any advice, preferences, recommendations?
Before everyone starts hurling abuse in my direction - I know theyre all unreliable (thats why I got a 5 year warranty). From my research they all seem to be as unreliable as each other and its something Ill live with. And I dont mind a little cleaning up. And for the taste...Well, I actually like the Nespresso taste, so my tastebuds obviously dont work quite right anyway.
I just wanted something better than mildly coffee flavoured luke warm milk...Something relatively close to a latte... Any one?
