Re: My GAGGIA Classic "a disappointment!!!!!"
Thisd be perfect for my office. They/we have a horrible shiny red Breville. It brews a long mud quite well! If youre serious about giving it away, I would have a good home for it, however if you want to perservere, listen to muppet_man and lucinda!
Thought about steaming first?

Re: My GAGGIA Classic "a disappointment!!!!!"
If you don want it, I will pay for postage for it to Adelaide to give to a friend of mine who cannot afford to buy a machine and would love it.
Oh and muppet man is right - you need to give it time to build up steam, usually about 1 -2 mins. Leaving it on all day if you are home will help shorten this delay.
Pre warming your cups would be a good idea too.
Persevere and ask questions and you will get there.

Re: My GAGGIA Classic "a disappointment!!!!!"
are you waiting for the steam to build up in the boiler before you start steaming. You cannot just flick the steam switch and start frothing. you have to wait.Originally posted by gaggialil link=1183597973/0#0 date=1183597973HI all
Why my GAGGIA classic takes so long to warm the milk and froth it. By the time I fninish the coffee is cold!! I think I will give up!! Luckily I did not buy the machine it was a present!! Anyone for a free machine??

Re: My GAGGIA Classic "a disappointment!!!!!"
there are hundreds of us here who happily use the classic and produce fabulous espresso and milk drinks with it. the old saying "A bad workman always blames his tools" springs to mind.
like everything else, you need to learn to use the thing and its little intricacies, but it is certainly a worthwhile and rewarding experience.
a PID or a timer along with a little bit of intelligent observation will let you get the best out of your machine - things like temp surfing for steam become second nature very quickly.
perhaps your "cold" espresso could be down to the fact that its the middle of winter and youre not pre-warming your cups?
but if you have seriously given up, ill take the machine. ill come pick it up from anywhere in sydney if youre from around here
Ill even make you a nice cup of coffee with it before i leave to show you what youre missing out on

Re: My GAGGIA Classic "a disappointment!!!!!"
Ummm..rigghtttt..
free eh?..hmmmmm
SOLD!..HAAHHAHAH
To any seasoned gaggia user your comments are seriously odd.
Your able to brew espresso..but cant steam?..
Please elaborate if you need help.
ie.
All i can say...you must have a faulty steam thermostat and your brew thermostat
works....its a simple as pie fix.
Go ask for another steam thermostat for your gaggia at your local shop.
Do a basic search on google for your gaggia and you will tons of web stuff explaining
how to fix your machine. Or have a technician do it..still inexpensive.
Check this link: explains everything..the machine explanations apply to you verbatum.
A trouble shoot list is available scroll down the webpage.
