Where are you? One of my Perth friends upgraded his 6910 and he is going to sell it. Probably good for another 5 years - I checked it out a few weeks back for him.

If you were closer I would pay you to fix the machine for me

Perhaps it is, unless you are doing the repairs yourself.
I just pulled mine to bits this morning to replace the collar, after over 10,000 shots.
Water level sensors are cheap, and part of what I would call normal maintenance, as is the brew head seal.

However, if you were close I would buy it off you and fix it with the new parts it needs!

Sunbeam EM6910 is it worth fixing?

I have an old 6910 that has been well loved and used over the past 8+ years, from what I have read this machine is still well regarded so I am wondering if its worth fixing

There is a leak somewhere near the steam knob. signs of water scale/damage under the steam knob
the water level sensor packed up long ago and its had a magnet in there for ages
the brew head seal is shot
the collar is also in need of replacing
and this morning I found a hole in the side of the porta filter

Is this the end of the line for my well loved machine ?
Working...
