Haven't got the Coffee Snobs roasted beans yet, but have made progress with the machine. Turns out we weren't grinding fine enough. Had a friend come over who was a barrista, and she got it working with the supermarket beans with a finer grind. The gauge now goes into the green and comes out a bit slower and thicker with a creme. I thought I had being grinding fine, but obviously not!! The grind now come out dry as well from the group head, not wet like they use to. Will still get the Coffee Snobs beans soon to try them though. Now the wife wants an automatic grinder (currently have a Sunbeam EM0405 herb/spice/coffee grinder) like the Sunbeam EM0700 or Breville BCG820BSS. Anyone have suggestions?
    Thanks

    Welcome to Coffee Snobs.

L3N picked it in one AA1, it's almost certainly the beans your using.

Supermarket beans, have a read through this thread http://coffeesnobs.com.au/general-co...-horror-2.html

Roasted coffee beans from the local supermarket are stale on the shelf, regardless of the claims made on the packaging.

Why not order some roasted beans from Coffee Snobs, think you will be pleasantly surprised, the sample pack would be a good starting point CoffeeSnobs - BeanBay - Roasted Coffee - ready to freight now. - Roasted Sample Pack - RTFN

What beans are you using? When were they roasted?

    Problem with our Sunbeam EM7100

    Can anyone help?

Purchased the Sunbeam EM7100 (capsule and coffee bean) machine over a year ago. Was working nicely until I performed the cleaning cycle as directed in the instructions. Ever since, we have had problems with the pressure gauge and making the coffee from grinds. Gauge works perfectly when using capsules, but when we try to make a coffee from grinds (whether fine or coarse), the gauge will only move 1-2 indicators on the gauge, where it should be between 5-7. The grind is not always dry and usually there is liquid left between the filter basket and the group handle. Rang Sunbeam and followed their instructions and it did what it was suppose to, (according to them) but it hasn't fixed our problem.

Anyone else had problems or know of someone who has and if they were able to fix it?

We live in rural SA so trying to get it to a Service Centre or Repairer is difficult.

    Thanks in advance
Working...
