  • PID fitment to Quaha Nap II

    HI all,
I was just wanting to hear from anyone who may have PIDd thier Quaha Nap II.
Does anyone have any input as to whether it would be a good or bad idea?

    Cheers

Great idea- just sold one. I put the sensor under the brew thermostat and the PID on the side, SSR under the grinder- there may be a photo of it in the for sale section- it worked very well.

Yeah Mal did his (whichever one it was) also,
(his wasnt the version with the grinder built in, but the boiler side was/is same)
These machines will benefit just as much as doing the same to a Silvia,
changes it from a good machine to a great machine.

        Hi guys,
        Thanks for the feeback,
So how do I go about selecting the right unit for the job?
        Which unit did Mal use?

        Cheers

          Gday Sinkas,

I bought my controller and ssr from a company called OneTemp, who specialise in all manner of industrial control hardware but my recommendation would be to go with one of the very high quality kits available from PID Kits. A site sponsor, who supplies everything you need nominally for a Silvia machine but equally suited to any Dual Purpose/Single Boiler machine such as yours. Chris of Talk Coffee (another site sponsor) works in harmony with Jim of PID Kits so it might be worth a call to Chris to see if he has any kits available "over the counter", instead of having to order one from Jim and wait for its delivery.

          All the best mate,

          Mal.
