Re: Fenice/Mokita/Lelit OPV
Oh well, Fenice is off the menu, back to the old drawing board, or should I say armchair for more research.

Re: Fenice/Mokita/Lelit OPV
I stand corrected, vicroamer- another name change! Last year I bought my daughter the delOpera which has a non adjustable OPV- a plastic thing. Also the boiler bolts were too short so the boiler leaked (bolts replaced) and the group seal so thin you couldnt get a seal for backflushing (used a shim to help). My understanding is the Lelit is the more solid variant, but as you said you dont want a combi.
It is a pity as the basic machine- like the quaha I just sold is a great machine. Also the Sydney technician for Nemox didnt know what an OPV was!

Re: Fenice/Mokita/Lelit OPV
Thanks Mal, If no OPV then it is off the list. There is always Silvia but I am a bit wary of cost of boiler replacement if the unthinkable happens, whereas Fenice is cheaper and has replaceable element.

Re: Fenice/Mokita/Lelit OPV
Got to be a bit careful here vr,
Not all of these machines, as similar as they are to each other in build, have an OPV fitted. The Mokita does, the latest Quaha Junior II does, early Fenice models do but not current models, and I have no idea about the Lelit at all.
If you are a current client of Alans he may well help you out with the info youre seeking but if youre not... forget it, and I dont really know who else has a good handle on this style of machine. Maybe you should open your options a bit and check out a few other makes that are known to use an OPV and are considered good quality machines in other respects too? Our sponsors are always ready and willing to help.....
Mal.

Alan sells the combi variant, I am interested in the espresso only model, wouldnt want to waste his time. Hoping former owners here may help.

Re: Fenice/Mokita/Lelit OPV
Fenice/Dell Opera is the brass boiler model, Junior/Napoletana has the stainless boiler. Web info is a bit conflicting but it looks to me like Fenice is the current version of the Mokita.

Re: Fenice/Mokita/Lelit OPV
Hi vicroamer
Check the Fenice- it isnt the same as the lelit or Quaha/mokita- they have a 57mm handle and the fenice Im pretty sure is 53mm. Also the F has a ss boiler whereas the others are 300ml brass. Im fairly sure the F is basically a Saeco VV- good but not the same beast. If so it may not have an OPV. In fact my daughters new Nemox variant has a plastic non adjustable one.

Fenice/Mokita/Lelit OPV
Sort of considering a Fenice, a few CSrs started out with earlier variants of these and on the whole seem to have been happy with them until the dreaded upgraditis struck. I havent turned up much about the OPV fitted to these machines, how good it is, if its adjustable and how to adjust. Appreciate it if anyone can pass on any info.Tags: None
