I dont know about a 6910 but I every few days remove shower screen regardless scrub soak and rinse thoroughly, now Ive learnt to backflush Id probably cntinue to remove it to be sure all teh gunk around the edges is gone. But thats with a different machine. Main thing I guess is keep the whole thing clean.

The dual floor baskets along with the rubber disc you get would probably build up enough pressure to backflush, however I still use a blind basket as its just easier in my opinion.

I dont think the basket itself would work as well, as the cleaning solution would mostly come out the bottom before you get enough pressure to backflush. (I normally wait untill the gauge is in the red before I release the valve)

i dont know y i cant build up the pressure to the red zone. Steam and water coming out from the spout. What i think is the rubber disk is floating when back flushing. Anyone has any idea of how to fix the leaking problem?

Do you put the rubber disc inside the double filter basket, flat side down?
Maybe the pressure between the two walls of the basket is pushing the rubber disc up slightly. Tried the single floor one?
You could try putting a bit of teflon tape or something in the little hole in the rubber disc to stop the water escaping.
I would try it myself, but have long lost that rubber disc.
I stopped using it because of the hole, which is fine if you use cleaning tablets, as the tablets block the hole during the cleaning cycle.
However, I could not get it to backflush with water alone, but that is all fine now with the blind filter.

This back flush bisiness is all new to me too, so Im interested in any tips you guys can come up with.

also ...Do I turn the machine upside down to remove the shower thingy? used to have to do that with the old sunbeam I had.
