Advice needed - em6910 - bits left over?

They're small indicators that go in the plastic rings that surround the steam and hot water knobs. Doesn't matter if they are in or not, just cosmetic.

So I went about changing out the brew pump on my Sunbeam em6910 - which was a patience development process that was spread out all over the dinning table. Anyway it's all back together and pouring a delicious espresso... My only concern is that there are these two little plastic wedge-type pieces left over?? Should I be concerned  or not be too worried about it. TIA.
