  • Thermal fuse replacement Gaggia Classic

    Hello!
I'm replacing the thermal fuse on my Gaggia Classic, but I'm unsure about crimp requirements. The fuse is rated at 184C. Will any copper crimp be ok (provided it's of appropriate size)? Can anyone suggest where in Australia I can get crimps for this purpose?
    Many thanks
    Nick

    Yes.

They're called butt connectors / butt splices.

Also available at Jaycar but the ones they carry are mostly rubbish (the self-sealing ones are OK). With all crimps a decent crimp tool is your friend, again the cheap ones are rubbish.

Yep, as a minimum, you should try to grab a pair of the Crescent Ratchet Crimping Tool.
Not too expensive but made well enough to last many years of casual use...
