OK, will do, thanks! I'm quite looking forward using freshly ground beans and experimenting with varieties, tools and techniques :-)

Wait until your new whole beans arrive and then you adjust the grind for optimum extraction. Ditch the double wall basket as well.
In the meantime, drink your pre ground Lavazza if you think it tastes OK and ignore your bubbly crema.

Not sure, never met them in the bean form :-). I'm using factory ground Lavazza Oro, which I've used before I got this machine with builtin grinder.

If you leave your leftover pre-ground coffee spread-out on a sunny window sill for a few days it will become far more consistent in the cup. It won't be better, just more consistent.

...or you could grab some fresh roasted coffee (whole bean) and grind it when you need it.
The results will be chalk and cheese and a whole lot easier to get a good cup every-time.

BES870 - brew runs out coughing, sputtering and bubbly

    Hello!
Got BES870 machine about a week ago. First few espressos were as expected with smooth glossy crema. However, now the coffee running out of the filter starts as a smooth flow but quickly turns in a broken, sputtering, bubbly stream. The taste is fine, not burnt at all and not sour, and the coffee is not too hot, and there is the crema, but it has a lot of small and medium sized bubbles in it (so even simple latte art is not quite possible)

At the moment using leftover pre-ground Lavazza Oro coffee, dual wall double basket, 18g of coffee per shot, correct level and tamping. Extraction is about 25 sec, pressures are in the right zones for pre- and extraction stages. Everything's warmed up for ~20min.

Any ideas, what could be wrong in here, help is much appreciated!
