Cleaning of the machine wont be an issue as I am a trained barista and am more then happy to keep the machine maintained.
Hardest part is going from a commercial machine to something smaller and not knowing what exactly to look out for.
The machine itself would probably be used 3-4 times a day on a rough guess and each time would make a few coffees out of it.
But you have given me something to look into in regards to heating and turning off times.
Thanks

From what I remember reading that DeLonghi isn't great, the Breville BES870 is better.
With regard to coffee machines at workplaces there are a few things that need to be considered.
1. Someone needs to take ownership of cleaning and maintaining the machine or it will fall into disrepair very quickly.
2. Are the people in your workplace able to make manual espresso? Can they be bothered to learn or would a pod machine be better?
3. How much of the day is the machine going to be turned on? Most of the appliance type machines turn themselves off fairly quickly (e.g. BES920 15min), and aren't rated to be left on (or kept being turned back on) more than about an hour. They also take different amounts of time to heat up. E.g. the BES920 takes 15min to be properly warm, but the BES870 takes only 2min plus heating flush.

Well, the DeLonghi does come with a grinder build in, so that's 1 less thing to take up on the kitchen bench. only down side I dont like is having the beans sitting there near the heat, plus cleaning of build in grinders can be a pain (well, it was for me with previous Breville 860)
Does the Breville come with a grinder? or need to get another one (add to your budget)
I have no experience with the DeLonghi, but have had the BES900 for a few years before recently upgraded to the 920. Great machine... easy to use and maintain. Quick to make multiple cups of coffee when needed.
I have to also add that it has been bullet proof with my last machine... even my wife can make a decent coffee out of it.

Office Machine - Breville vs DeLonghi
Hi all,
Currently looking for a coffee machine for the Smoko room for work. Has about 6-8 employees roughly a day that will be using it multiple times a day.
Have been looking online and is tossing between Breville BES920BSS (Dual Boiler) and the DeLonghi EC9335M. What is recommend out of the two or is there another option that I have not seen yet?
