  • When will my 6910 promo grinder arrive?

    Hi all,

sent my promo slip to Sunbeam on 28/8 and still dont have the grinder. Any idea on how long it takes to be delivered? Almost at the end of my pre-ground coffee and dont want to buy more if I dont have to.

    thanks,
    John

Hi John, sorry but I cant really help answer that. I sent off my redemption on the same day (28/8) ;D and have not recieved it yet! There was another thread running about the promotion itself where ppl were talking about this very thing but at 1:30 am im too tired to search for it... sorry :

The brochure says four to six weeks. Many who bought early got it within two weeks, but according to retailers, there were strong sales, so it is probably taking a while to get through the rush at the end.

heh, I was just about to start a thread regarding this very topic. I need the new grinder so bad. I am so close to tossing my old EM0430 against the brick wall. It just does not grind fine enough. I know I can get really good coffee out of the 6910 with the right grind from a shop prepared grind......please hurry Sunbeam

Re: When will my 6910 promo grinder arrive?

Hello my free grinder arrived today after 3 1/2 weeks (sent away on the 3/9). I had to remove one of the spacer washers as discussed in the too fine grind thread, it had 3 washers under the bottom bur. I would have been most disapointed if I didnt find out about this mod as the grinder had to be set to 25+ to get a coarse enough grind to let any flow from the EM6910. After removing one washer, it is now set at 17 and appears to be in the correct pressure zone. Still experimenting with grind settings and tamp pressure but so far very happy with the result. I am doing the Sunbeam course on Saturday which should be a great help. Just thought Id let you know as they are probably from the same batch as yours.

Thanks for that repeet. However, im not keeping mine. I already have one and im happy with it. Never had an issue actually (fingers still crossed)! If I wasnt being biten by the upgraditis bug i would take the new s/s hopper lid from the new one (much nicer).

Perhaps it will be of some help to others though Also before use i suggest you pull it apart and make sure it hasnt been used. Other CSers have found old grinds within their "new" sunbeam promo grinders...

Higher end grinders are quite often tested at the factory and/or by retailers. I dont know if thats the case for sunbeam, but I wouldnt necessarily be drawing conclusions from ground coffee in an allegedly new grinder.

                  Cheers,

                  Luca
