Re: EM06910 warranty
The EM69010 comes with a 12-month warranty, but with a 5-year warranty on the pump motor.
I bought mine with the EM0480 grinder at David Jones, they currently have a promo where you get 10% off AND you can put the purchase on a David Jones card at 48 months interest free. 48 months is a long time for a sub-$1000 purchase, but hey, it doesnt cost me anything so why not?
Usually, items purchased on the David Jones card get an extra years warranty as well, so well worth looking into...

Re: EM06910 warranty
Third party warranties are usually run through insurance companies. Ive had reason to use both the Harvey Norman and the JB HiFi ones. Claiming is a bit of a pain. You have to report the fault to the warranty company. They give you an authorisation and tell you where to take it for repairs. The repairer then give the warranty company a quote, they take a few days to approve it and the work gets done. The, if youre unluck and the warranty company doesn have an account at the repairer, you wait until the warranty company pays the repairer who will then release your goods. My experience with a Canon video camera was a nightmare and I had to pay fo the repair and then claim the money back (they didnt want to do it that way, but I wasnt prepared to wait the 60 days for them to settle the account with CAnon). Ive just gone through an experience with a Saeco Incanto and Harvey Normans warranty - and that wasnt pleasant either. However, it was better than forking out $400 for the repair! Hope that helps.

Re: EM06910 warranty
Thanks for the replies
Youre right Toad - Sunbeam just replied to my email: "Sunbeam does not offer extended warranty on their products."
Does anyone know of a retailer with an extended warranty worth the paper its written on? Any good or bad experiences?

Re: EM06910 warranty
Im pretty sure that these sorts of extended warrantys are provided by third parties, NOT the manufacturer.
Thats certainly the case if you buy at Myer, DJs etc, where you can get an extended warranty on pretty much all white goods. Id be checking whats included & whats not before forking out the extra bucks.
If you can get a comprehensive 5 year warranty for $50, go for it. After all, few people are realistically expecting to get much more than 5 years out of an EM6910.

Re: EM06910 warranty
I paid extra for the piece of mind, however I believe it is only for 3 years. I could be wrong. The standard 5 year warranty is for the pump.

EM06910 warranty
I seem to remember reading a couple of things here and elsewhere about a 5-year, $50 extended warranty for the EM06910 - has anyone here bought the machine with the extended warranty? Im assuming this is separate to the motor warranty and covers the whole machine?
Im looking at a second-hand machine but if the 5 year warranty is good, Ill probably buy it new instead.Tags: None
