To be fair, the EM6910 was a major setup in reliability compared to the previous lemon (EM6900). I should know, I went through 4 EM6900 before I got upgraded to the 6910...much better machine! Sure, its not a High End HX machine, but for what it does for the price, awesome!
Absolutely, I just meant that maybe there was some one-upmanship going on - the 6910 is a great machine for what it is but not in the same league as the Marte/Makin!
Four machines, ouch! That sounds like a lot of time waiting while its with Sunbeam...
Damien Court was looking after me though.. and turn around times were a few days only.

Thanks Gadget & Toad - good news about the warranty too.
Dont worry Kopi_O, assuming I make it onto the course Ill make sure the supplies arent wasted! Ive been through about 500g of beans so far for only a few really good shots, so I think its high time I experimented at someone elses expense
I went to the course two weeks ago in adelaide, saw an old man with his wife attended though (They bought 1 machine). I dont think there is a problem with two people going with one applicants name.
Dont afraid to waste all the beans and milk they provide Enjoy
Depends on whether you trust him to wait on you or not.
If not, do it yourself.
At least then you are assured of getting a good coffee when you want one.
I think the hardest decision is who should go.. with 2 coffee nuts in the house and only 1 space... who should win... the guy (so he can make me endless coffees and i can live like lady muck) or the gal so he can be a right old lord on the deck.

Paul must have a lot of faith in the 6910!

The machine was presented to David Makin by Paul Basset himself, so I reckon they might show some leniency!
Besides, Im very persuasive... </puppy-dog eyes>
