    Re: Faulty 6910 ?

Recieved the coffeen sample from Sunbeam. Its pretty fine, a couple grade finer than what I have the grinder set. Im really starting to think its the grinder. I pulled a decent shot this morning and then got crappy shot this afternoon on the same grinder setting. I went down one notch and got a decent shot again. Im keeping tamping routine through out . Im thinking off going to a rocky for a more consistent grind, any thoughts on this ? :-?

If ya flushed with $$$ then a good choice. If not you could try the warranty approach first off as it gives you some extra time. If the new one is not to you liking at least if you sell it it would be not so old...

I for one have found the EM0480 to be a little bit of an issue with the grind settings, but once shimmed and set up ....... Its a damm good grinder for its place in the market. I am however looking forward to the Em0481? if it ever is released.. If teh changes are like the difference between the 6900 and the 6910 then it should be a top beast.

The grinder is over 12 months old so miss out on the replacement guarantee >. I was using it with another machine and at that time didnt have a good understanding the grind/tamp process. AngerManagement you mentioned about shimming them em0480, are you able to advise the process ? Ill give this a go before going the rocky...

Lots of posts about fixing a course ;D grind. If my search abilities were good, I would link but cant find it >

          Opps just did ;D

http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1187939008 You can read my post along with others as there appears to be TWO common fixes. However, I think the shim under the bottom burr is the easiest in teh first instance. Not after adding a spacer, always start at the highest setting plus, and work ya way down slowly.

I usually end up doing 3 or 4 or even 5 shots which I add to a carton of milk... Presto Iced coffee for some one ;D
