  • EM6910 Group Handle Angle

I find it interesting that since I purchased my 6910 (in late May 07), the group handle has to sit off centre (about 5 degrees to the right) in order to maintain a tight seal.

I called Sunbeam about this and they said it was (get this) "how its meant to be"! Very odd in my book. I figured I needed a new head seal but they told me to keep tightening.

Anyways, I thought it was interesting stupid so I figured Id post about it.

    Cheers.

Thats normal for any machine. As you use it, the seal wears down and you have to lock it in further to the right to maintain a tight seal.

If youre really worried about it, you can probably place in a 0.5mm spacer under your seal to make it lock at 90 deg.

Edit: I have already tried this for a customer once on a 6910, and found it really tight to lock the portafilter back in properly. Then again, I tried putting in 3 spacers....1 spacer should be fine.

As long as it works, keep using it as you are... When you get all the way to the right and then it starts leaking over the top of the PF, then get a new gasket & spacer.

      Good luck!

Where do you get these spacers from?

It is true, however , that the seal wears down.

If the portafilter doesnt lock in properly, leaks, unwinds itself or otherwise doesnt work, worry.

          Otherwise, not so much
